About us

We are consultant engineering firm specialized in quality control, testing of materials, and supervision of construction work. we have more than 15 years of experience in the QC and testing of structures in Egypt and Arab world. We have 7 on-site testing laboratories besides our central laboratory for carrying out the testing of soil, backfilling, aggregates, cement, fresh and hardened concrete, and asphalt work. our staff is familiar with national and international standards such as Egyptian standards, ASTM, BS, ASHTO, and European standards.

On-site testing

We provide on-site testing facilities, QC engineers, and technicians for carrying out the testing of soil, backfilling, fresh and hardened concrete, and asphalt work according to project's specifications.

Supervison

Our experienced engineers and technicians will supervise all civil works according to project's specifications and national and international codes of practices.

Off-site testing

All tests beyond the onsite testing such as chemical analysis, testing of steel reinforcement, and stones, etc. can be carried out in our central laboratory.

CAIRO CAPITAL S/S1 SUBSTATION

Owner: Armed Forces for engineering authority

Contractor: El-Sweedy Electric Company (T&D)

Location: Cairo New Capital

Administrative capital station S1 with a capacity of 500/220/66/22 KV was designed and implemented by the El-Sweedy Electric Company T&D in partnership with the Korean company Hyundai. El-Sewedy Electric has signed a contract for a project with a turnkey system, at a value of EGP 1.23 billion.

Dr. Kamal Sharobim's Engineering office had a contract with El-Sweedy Electric Company T&D to provide and operate the on-site testing laboratory to carry out all required quality control tests for 23 months from February 2018 to January 2020. The on-site tests for all civil engineering works including excavation, backfilling works, concrete works, brick works, internal roads and asphalt works were carried out at our on-site laboratory, however off-site tests were carried out at our central laboratory at 6 of October City.

DAHSHOUR TUNNEL

Owner: Armed Forces for engineering authority

Contractor: Geos for Trading and Contracting Company

Location: Dahshour

Dahshour Tunnel Project is a double tunnel made from steel constructed under Cairo Middle Road at Dahshour area. The tunnel is designed and manufactured from corrugated steel by ViaCon Poland and constructed by Geos for Trading and Contracting Company. Each tunnel has clear span of 12.251 m.

Dr. Kamal Sharobim's Engineering office supervised all civil works including excavation, backfilling works, concrete works for foundations and tunnel walls, and installation of steel rings for the body of the tunnel. The works also includes the construction of keystone block works and transfer RC slab on the top of the tunnels. The work is stated at June 2019 and finished by October 2020 for 16 months.

SHARM EL-SHEIKH RING ROAD TUNNELS

Owner: Armed Forces for engineering authority

Contractor: Geos for Trading and Contracting Company

Location: Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt

The project consists of four steel tunnels constructed under the Sharm El-Sheikh Ring Road. The tunnel is designed and manufactured from corrugated steel by ViaCon Poland and constructed by Geos for Trading and Contracting Company. Each tunnel has clear span of 12.0 m.

Dr. Kamal Sharobim's Engineering office supervised all civil works including excavation, backfilling works, concrete works for foundations and tunnel walls, and installation of steel rings for the body of the tunnel. The works also includes the construction of keystone walls. All tests for construction materials were carried out under our supervision of our staff and in our laboratories during the period from May 2016 to March 2017.

AMWAJ NORTH COAST RESORT

Owner: Al-Ahly Real Estate Development Company (Sabbour)

Contractor: El-Alamen Group for Contracting

Location: North coast, Egypt

Amwaj North Coast is one of the most luxurious tourist villages that were recently constructed in one of the most distinctive sites in the North Coast region by Al-Ahly Real Estate Development Company (Sabbour). The project is located on the 135th kilometer of the Alexandria / Matrouh desert road in the Sidi Abdel Rahman area. A vast estimated 200 acres with direct view of the sea with a beach width of 1300 square meters and a depth of 1,200 square meters. It consists of hundreds of villas and townhouses of different sizes.

Dr. Kamal Sharobim's Engineering office works with Al-Ahly Real Estate Development company and El-Alamen Group Contracting Company from September 2011 to August 2016 to carry out all required quality control tests through the site laboratory for 60 months. The on-site tests for all civil engineering works including excavation, backfilling works, concrete works, brick works, internal roads and asphalt works were carried out at our on-site laboratory, however off-site tests were carried out at our central laboratory at 6 of October City.

MULTI-PURPOSE NEUCLEAR REACTOR

Owner: The Atomic Energy Authority of Egypt

Contractor: INVAP (Argentinian Company)

Location: Inshas, Sharqia, Egypt

Multi-Purpose Nuclear Reactor (MPNR) is the second nuclear reactor in Egypt supplied by the Argentine company (INVAP). The reactor is owned and operated by Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority (AEA) at the Nuclear Research Center in Inshas, 60 kilometers northeast of Cairo. The construction works began in 1993 jointly by Argentina and Egypt and finished by November 1997.

Dr Kamal Sharobim was participated in this project to Supervise the Quality control and Quality assurance of different activities for civil works including concrete works (normal and heavy), earth works, grouting, repairing and road works. He designed all concrete mixes for normal heavyweight concrete and supervised the on-site and off-site tests for different materials related to civil works.

ASSIUT POWER PLANT UNIT II

Owner: Upper Egypt Production Company

Contractor: ABB SAE SADELMI

Location: Assiut, Egypt

Assiut power plant unit II has a capacity of 650 MW firing mazut at generator terminals/ rated 670 MW firing natural gas. The works including construction of generators building, mazut fuel storage tanks, intake and discharge structures for plant cooling, water and wastewater treatment plant, and 500 KV GIS switchyard facility.

Dr Kamal Sharobim was participated in this project to supervise the Quality Control and Quality Assurance of different activities for civil works from July 1992 to June 1994. The work includes concrete works, earth works, grouting, repairing and road works. Dr. Sharobim supervised the on-site and off-site tests for different materials related to civil works.

EZZ ROLLING MILL

Owner: Ezz Steel

Contractor: Danieli middle east for engineering services

Location: Soukhna, Suez, Egypt

Ezz Rolling Mill is one of the biggest rolling mill steel factory in middle east. It was designed and constructed by Danieli middle east for engineering services at Ain Sokhna, Suez, Egypt.

Dr. Kamal Sharobim's Engineering office had a contract with Danieli middle east for engineering services to provide and operate the on-site testing laboratory to carry out all required quality control tests for 20 months from October 2013 to May 2015. The on-site tests for all civil engineering works including excavation, backfilling works, concrete works, brick works, internal roads and asphalt works were carried out at our on-site laboratory, however off-site tests were carried out at our central laboratory at 6 of October City.

BIBLIOTHECA ALEXANDRINA

Owner: Egyptian Government

Contractor: Arab Contractor & B-six Joint venture

Location: Alexandria City, Egypt

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina is built on a magnificent site alongside Alexandria's ancient harbor in the historic center of the city. The 11-story library can contain up to 4 million volumes of books, and can be expanded up to 8 million by the use of compact storage. In addition to the library facilities, the library also contains other cultural and educational functions including a planetarium, several museums, a school for information science, and conservation facilities. Characterized by its circular, tilting form, the building spans 160 meters in diameter and reaches up to 32 meters in height, while also diving some 12 meters into the ground. An open plaza and reflecting pool surrounds the building, and a footbridge links the city to the nearby University of Alexandria. Construction work began in 1995 and, after some US$230 million had been spent, the complex was officially inaugurated on 16 October 2002.

Dr. Kamal Sharobim was participated as one of the team who designed and supervised the New Alexandria Library. His work is concentrated on preparation of technical specifications for the project including structural elements and all civil works, design of corrosion monitoring and predicting system, review of concrete mix design and supervision of all concrete works.

NEW DOHA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Owner: NDIA Authority (Qatari Government)

Contractor: Bechtel International with 15 Contractors

Location: Doha, Qatar

The New Doha International Airport have a land area in excess of 22 square kilometers. NDIA’s eastern runway will be 4,850 meters long. The construction began in January 2005, where the total cost of the three phases of the project are about 6 Billion USD, and the terminal cost is about 500 million USD. The 350,000+ square meters passenger terminal facility will be the largest building in Doha, covering an area equivalent to 50 full-size football pitches.

Dr. Kamal Sharobim was participated in this project as a Project Manager for Contract No.6 to carry out spot check testing as third party for all civil Engineering Works. His work is concentrated on testing of backfilling and dredging materials, construction of runway and taxiway, construction of the main terminal building and other facilities, including soil works, concrete works and asphalt works through the on-site testing laboratory.

PORTO CAIRO

Owner: Amer group

Contractor: Geos for Trading and Contracting

Location: Ring Road, New Cairo, Egypt

Porto Cairo is located at the heart of Cairo’s largest growing business district. It consists of number of villas and flats. In addition, there is a big mall. The luxurious finishing of the units gives you a true first-class living experience. Porto Cairo Mall is a commercial complex that host several restaurants and stores. The volume of work is about 9.5 Million Egyptian Pounds.

Dr. Kamal Sharobim's Engineering office had a contract with Geos for Trading and Contracting to carry out the testing for all civil works including excavation, backfilling works, concrete works for retaining walls, and keystone walls. All tests for construction materials were carried out by our staff and in our laboratories during the period from May 2011 to June 2013.

ABU RAWASH WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT

Owner: Ministry of Housing, Egyptian Government

Contractor: ORASqualia (Orascom and Aqualia Spanish Co.)

Location: Abu Rawash, Giza, Egypt

Upgrading of Abu Rawash WWTP was awarded to the consortium (Joint Venture of Spanish company Aqualia with Egyptian company Orascom) includes the construction and management of the plant's facilities for 25 years, with investments of more than 500 million euros (around $560 million).The new project will be similar to the existing treatment plant, which processes 250,000 cubic meters per day, but will be six times bigger in both capacity and area. The project Start on June 2018.

Dr. Kamal Sharobim's Engineering office had a contract with ORASqualia to provide and operate the on-site testing laboratory to carry out all required quality control tests for 36 months from August 2018. The on-site tests for all civil engineering works including excavation, backfilling works, concrete works, brick works, internal roads and asphalt works were carried out at our on-site laboratory, however off-site tests were carried out at our central laboratory at 6 of October City. Due to the size of work, two QC Engineers and seven Technicians are working in the site laboratory for two shifts.
